There are 3 steps in this acitivity: 

  1. Story Selection: Choose a short story you love in your native language 
  2. Vocabulary Gathering: Use QuillBot to simplify the text (if needed) to suit your English level. You can choose to “Shorten” the text, or make the text more “Natural” or “Simple”. Then use DeepL Translate (or QuillBot) to translate the simplified text into your language. Gather vocab words that relate to the story’s character(s), setting, and plot. 
  3. Brainscape Flashcards: Create a Brainscape flashcard deck for this story, including definitions, example sentences, and images if possible to help you remember the words in their context.
