Communication is influenced not only by words, but also by:

- posture,
- and physical distance.
However, nonverbal behavior may be interpreted differently depending on context and communication expectations.
Discussion Prompt:
Choose ONE type of nonverbal communication:
- eye contact,
- gestures,
- facial expressions,
- personal space,
- tone of voice,
- or speaking pace.
Then:
- Describe how this behavior is usually interpreted in your own communication environment.
- Explain how misunderstanding could happen if someone interprets the behavior differently.
- Give a short example or scenario.
You may include:
- personal experiences,
- observations,
- films,
- workplace examples,
- or online communication examples.
Peer Response Task:
Reply to a couple of your classmates by discussing:
- another possible interpretation of the same nonverbal behavior,
- or how context changes meaning.
