Course Title: ESOL for Beginners

Each week is focused on a specific skill (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, Grammar) with integrated vocabulary and grammar instruction.


Week 1: Introduction & Orientation

Learning Objectives:

  • Familiarize with Moodle platform.

  • Forum: Introduce yourself to the class.

  • Verbal Feedback: Teacher will provide verbal feedback on students' introduction posts.


Week 2: Vocabulary Development

  • Learn basic vocabulary related to school, home, and daily life.

  • Practice spelling and pronunciation.

Week 3: Listening Skills

  • URL: Link to a short English video (cartoon, dialogue) for comprehension.

Week 4: Speaking Skills

Learning Objectives:

  • Practice basic conversational phrases.

Week 5: Reading Skills

Learning Objectives:

  • Read and understand simple texts.

  • Identify the main idea and supporting details in short stories or articles.

  • Book: Short reading comprehension texts (simple stories or articles on daily life).

Week 6: Writing Skills

Learning Objectives:

  • Write simple sentences and paragraphs about daily life and familiar topics.
