This course introduces teachers to the principles and classroom practice of Group Guided Reading in the Foundation Phase. Participants will explore how to group learners effectively, select level-appropriate texts, and support reading fluency, comprehension, and confidence through guided instruction.
The course also unpacks the teacher’s role in modelling reading strategies, monitoring progress, and creating meaningful reading experiences for all learners. Through practical examples and classroom-focused strategies, teachers will gain the knowledge and tools needed to implement successful Group Guided Reading sessions that support learners on their journey towards independent reading.
